Publix Highlights for the Week of October 1

Please remember that my ad week begins on Wednesday; however, some areas begin on Thursday. Please check your local ad to verify your ad schedule. These sales and prices are in the Metro Atlanta area where manufacturer coupons with a face value of .50 or less are doubled. For items that are on sale Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) you only have to buy one to get the item 50% off. Be sure to take full advantage of the sales by pairing them with competitor's coupons including $/$ purchase when applicable. I try to find the best deals to post here, but for a complete match up of this week's sale items with coupons from the inserts visit Coupon Mom starting on Thursday.

This week's ad is not nearly as spectacular for couponers as last week's; however, there are a few great loss leaders that are even better if your store accepts the Food Lion (FLIP) and Target Printable Coupons.

The Best of the Loss Leaders With Competitor Coupons:

Red Globe Grapes .99/lb
First pound is FREE after Target Printable Coupon
Buy in small quantities for the best value.

Dozen Eggs $1.29 - Limit 4
.29/Dozen after $1/1 FLIP (Limit 1 Food Lion Coupon For Each Type of Item Per Transaction)

Publix Ice Cream $2.29/Half-Gallon
$1.29/1 after $1/1 Food Lion Printable - Great to go with Apple Crisp. The new crop of apples should start coming in soon.

If you are planning to buy produce don't forget the $2 off/$5 Produce FLIP (Should NOT stack with Target grapes coupon, but can be used if you are buying additional produce). Also, the $2 off/$5 Bakery and Deli FLIP is still valid this week too.

The Best of the Loss Leaders Without Coupons:

Publix Sour Cream 16 oz. $1.09 BOGO
.55/1 - Good if you need it. Probably all of the free Daisy Sour Cream has been used or expired by now.

Chicken Leg Quarters .59/lb
I'm sure it is probably a fair price, but this still seems high to me. I remember getting them on sale for .19/lb a just a few years ago.

Head Lettuce .79 - Limit 4

Bartlett Pears .99/lb

Milk $3.39/gallon - Limit 4

The Best of the Deals With Coupons:

Betty Crocker Potatoes 1.59 BOGO
.30/1 after $1/2 (General Mills Dollar Days Book)
I'm anticipating a new coupon to be in Sunday's inserts, but I don't have any verification.

Birds Eye Boxed Vegetables $1 - If you really need more frozen vegetables right now.
.30/1 after .35/1 doubled (Fresh, Flavorful, and Frozen Book)

Lender's Bagels (frozen) BOGO - No Price Listed
Estimate these will be less than .50/1 after .75/1 Publix Coupon (GA version of Toss for Cash Book)

Kashi Pocket Bread Sandwich 50% off - No Price Listed
Estimate these will be less than $1 after $2/1 Kashi printable coupon.

Banquet Select Recipes $1.33
.88/1 after .50/2 doubled (8/21 S)

Old El Paso Dinner Kit $2.99 BOGO
$1/1 After $1/2 (8/10 GM - expires 10/4 OR General Mills Dollar Days Book)

Ragu 45 oz. $3.35 BOGO
$1.17/1 after .50/2 doubled (8/17 RP)
You may come out cheaper waiting for the 26 oz. size to go BOGO, but if you are running low buy a couple of jars.

Some Coupon Matchups for FREE/cheap Non Sale Items:

Frank's Red Hot Sauce Small bottles from .99
FREE after $1.50/1 (9/28 S)

Buy 1 Muir Glen Tomato Sauce .85 (Thanks for the tip, Random Ramblings) AND
1 Muir Glen Diced Tomatoes $1.69 (If you are just buying these they are cheaper at Wal-Mart)
.04 for BOTH after 2 .75/1 (9/28 S) AND $1/2 Publix Coupon (October Greenwise Magazine - Most stores should have these available currently at the front turnstyle with the weekly ads.)
You can pair the Tomato Sauce with a more expensive item if you still have any of the $1/1 printables.

Vlasic Relish or Peppers
FREE or cheap after
$1/1 Printable (From HCW Verified PDF coupon list) AND Publix Coupons (GA version of Toss for Cash)
